Early Intervention Injury Management refers to multi-disciplinary, workplace-centered management and rehabilitation of acute work-related injuries with the key objectives of:
  1. Optimising recovery and functional restoration.
  2. Preventing chronic disability and its human and economic costs.

Once an injured worker develops chronic disability, the prognosis is poor.

Bringing together an Occupational Physician, Occupational Therapist and Exercise Physiologist, and in collaboration with the injured worker, family doctor and workplace, OccuMED provides effective early intervention injury management based on 'clinical evidence' to successfully manage work-related ailments such as back, shoulder and knee injuries as well as occupational overuse ('RSI').
